Barbara Clark Ballard, 88, of Paint Lick, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021 at her residence. Born July 5, 1932 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Ike & Thelma Lane Clark. Barbara was a retired secretary for Norfolk-Southern Railroad, was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, and had been a longtime poll worker for the local elections and a active member in the Democratic Party. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Ballard, Jr., and a son, David Edward Ballard.
Her survivors include a daughter; Donna (William) Propes of Paint Lick, 3 grandchildren; Jennifer (Steve) Slate, Jerrid (Leanna) Cutter, Miranda (Kevin) Roberts, 2 step granddaughters; Patty Gilbert & Peggy (Ronald) Dickerson, great grandchildren; Brittany Kelly, Brenna Roberts, Alexis Boots, Tritan & Temperance Cutter, as well as two great great grandchildren; Eleanor & Eden.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ballard will be 1:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2021 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Joe Tuttle. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time Friday. In accordance with state mandates, facial coverings are required to attend services.
