Winfred Wesley, 73, of Elwood Dr., died Friday, April 5, 2019 at his residence.  Born July 28, 1945 in Casey County, he was the son of the late Albert Lee and Viola Byrd Wesley. He graduated in 1963 from Middleburg High School, the last senior class of that school.  He is a member of the Shelby City Baptist Church, a Kentucky Colonel and has been an active member of the American Legion Perryville Post and Danville VFW Post 3634 for many years.  Winfred loved gardening and sharing his vegetables.  He loved to fish and spend time with his family and friends, always having a grandchild by his side   His caring and witty personality was admired by all.   He retired from the State of Kentucky where he was a Maintenance Supervisor for the Dept. of Human Resources.  He is predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Ann Wesley, two brothers, Robert Wesley and Charles Joseph Wesley and a sister, Flossie May “Sissy” Long.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Williams Wesley; a daughter, Gwen Wesley of Lexington and a son, Randy (Kathy) Williams of Forkland; three sisters, Ruby Wesley Hatton of Cincinnati, Linda Fay (Gale) Brown of Liberty and Brenda Kay (Stan) Pierce of Cincinnati and three brothers, Ernest Lee Wesley of Cincinnati, John Doy (Marilyn) Wesley of Center, Ky. and Earl (Lisa) Wesley of Seymour, Indiana; four grandchildren, Jeremy Williams, Melissa Williams, Natalie Jennings and Jessie Wade Jennings and four great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kaylee, Kinsley and Rayleigh Williams.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m, Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City.  Rev. Paul McFarland will officiate.  Burial will be in the Danville Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers will be Randy Williams, Jeremy Williams, Tony Brown, Earl Wesley, Harold Lee Wesley and Jackie Long.  Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Godbey, Gile Cochran, Johnny Williams, Randall Gosser, Walter Duff, Danny Lay and Tom Miller. Military Honors will be provided by the Caswell-Saufley American Legion Post # 19 and the Patriot Riders.  Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City.  Memorial donations are suggested to Heritage Hospice.
