Virginia Adeline Garner Hall, “Ginnie” and “Honey”, age 88, died on November 29, 2021. She was born November 3, 1933, in Sealston, Virginia, to the late George M. and Adeline Howard Garner. She was a graduate of King George High School, and sang throughout the region and on local radio stations as one of the Garner Sisters trio. She was married for 50 years to Bill Hall, a beloved Baptist pastor, and she was a faithful helper at his side throughout five decades of pastoral service in Virginia and Kentucky. She was small in stature but mighty in presence.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James William Hall; four siblings Bill Garner, Vanda Fines, Doris Flippo and Jean Trainor; infant granddaughter Rebekah Lee Byrd; and infant great-grandson Joseph Espanioly.
She is survived by daughters Amy Byrd (Ron) of Fort Worth, TX, and Belinda Morgan (David) of Lexington, KY; two sisters Barbara Young and Rose Marie Payne; seven grandchildren: Sarah Morgan Embers (Troy), Hannah Byrd Espanioly, Stephen Morgan (Mandi Lou), Jacob Byrd (Kacie), Bethany Byrd Hughes (Dustin), Matthew Morgan, and Rachel Morgan Windley (David); fifteen great-grandchildren: Gaia Rose Steele, Kaylee Embers, Samuel Espanioly, Eli Embers, Adaline Morgan, Eliza Marie Espanioly, Lydia Faith Espanioly, William Windley, Benjamin Morgan, Case Windley, Rhoda Bethany Espanioly, Rebekah June Byrd, Titus Embers, Dylan Windley, and soon-to-arrive Noah Embers; and many special nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 10, at 1:00 PM at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Danville, Kentucky. Visitation will immediately precede the service, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Haven Care Center; 464 S. 4th Street, Danville, KY 40422, havencarecenter.org ; or to Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse International Relief PO BOX 3000 Boone, NC 28607.
