Verbena Sears

Verbena Lee Sears, age 79, Salvisa, widow of A.J. Sears Sr., passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at her home in Salvisa. Born June 27, 1942 in Somerset, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Stella Myrtle (Harper) Sears. She was pharmacy tech at Cardinal Hill in Lexington and at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. She loved being with her grandchildren and was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: a daughter Belinda Thompson of Lexington; a son A.J. (Geri Dawn) Sears, Jr. of Salvisa; a sister-in law Beverly Meece Sears of Somerset; she also has seven grandchildren Andrew Sears, Eleanor Sears, Abigail Sears and Emily Sebree all of Salvisa, Justin Dunagan, Jason Dunagan and Jennifer Dunagan all of Lexingto and two great-grandchildren Adylee Ann Dunagan and Eden Kayne Dunagan both of Lexington. Verbena was preceded in death by two brothers Bruce Sears and Charles Sears.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 noon, Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Sims Funeral Services by Bro. John David Lane. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens in Danville.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of services at Sims Funeral Services.

Pallbearers are A.J. Sears, Jr., Andrew Sears, Jason Dunagan and Justin Dunagan.
