Roy H. "Round Head" Williams, 87, of Danville, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was born November 10, 1927 to the late Sanford and Sarah Bentley Williams. Roy was preceded in death by his wife of many years, Reva Shoemaker Williams.
Roy served our country in the Air Force and worked for the Northfolk Railroad for 42 years. He was known as "Round Head" to all his railroad family. Roy enjoyed many things in his life such as going to yard sales and flea markets, but above all, loved his family. He was a faithful member of the Junction City First Baptist Church.
Surviving is a son; Terry Williams (Carol Ann) of Junction City; six grandchildren: Chad Williams (Eden), Kristal Williams Summers (David), Zachary Williams, Nicholas Williams, Cody Williams, and Trey Williams (Tuesday); and six great grandchildren: James Thomas Summers, Jacob Summers, Ezra Summers, Sayla Williams, Vaughn Williams, and Xavier Williams.
Roy is preceded in death by two brothers; James and Daniel Williams; and a sister, Miranda Spence.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with the Reverends Jason Moore and Bruce Chute. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Monday, January 26, 2015.
Pallbearers are EJ Plummer, Clyde Rogers, Earl Pinkston, Butch Belcher, Leonard Upton, Bob Hair, and Danny Chambers.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Brian Ellis, Mutt Hall, Jimmy Hines, Marshall Fugate, Dave Young, and Chester Nichols.
