Robert Cox

Robert Louis "Warty" Cox, 90, husband of Elsie Hargis Cox, died March 25, 2011 at Ephriam McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born August 14, 1920 in Burnside, Ky., he was the son of the late James Preston and Josie Nunn Cox. He retired as a conductior for Southern Railroad, was a US Army veteran, a Mason for sixty-six years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survied by a son, Robert Louis (Pam) Cox, Jr. of Charleston, SC, a daughter, Sharon Lee Woods of Harrodsburg, Ky., ten step-children, a brother, Ross Douglas (Charlene) Cox of Mich., several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a special, dear friend, Machelle Stevenson of Nashville, Tn. The funeral service will be Monday at 1 pm at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Earnest Martin and Rev. Brent Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandchildren. Visitation is Sunday from 3-6 pm at Stith Funeral Home in Danville with a Masonic service at 5:30 pm.
