Ricardo "Cardo" Nunez, 18, of Stanford, KY passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in Knoxville, TN. Born September 3, 1997 in Lexington, KY to Carlos Nunez and Christina Nicole Sylvie Bell (Mike).
Cardo was a country boy, he loved his truck, fishing, frog gigging, country music and taking selfies. He played football up to his junior year at Lincoln County High School. Cardo also worked at Zaxby's in Danville, KY and was a member of the Stanford Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his mother, Christina "Nicole" Sylvie Bell (Mike) and his father, Carlos Nunez, both of Stanford, KY; four brothers, Santana Hocker, Daniel Nunez, Carlos Nunez and Theron Bell; three sisters, Sofia Nunez, Cecilia Cano and Brianna Bell; his maternal grandparents, Margaret Horton of Danville, KY and Donald Sylvie of Hanover Park, IL; paternal grandparents, Solomon Nunez and Maria Carmen, both of Chicago, IL; five uncles, Jason Sylvie (Ashley), Stanford, KY, Mark Sylvie (Brina), Bensonville, IL, Victor Nunez, Danville, KY, Efrain Nunez (Nena), Chicago, IL and Moses Nunez (Lisa), Orlando, FL; one aunt, Carmen Dudeck, of Texas, and a cousin and family friend who were aunts to him; Tacha Tuminski and Kristi Smith. He is preceded in death by two uncles, Salvador and Gabriel Nunez.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 4-9 pm. at the Lincoln County High School "Stuart Underwood" Auditorium. The funeral service will be 1 pm, Monday, September 28, 2015, at the Stuart Underwood Auditorium, visitation Monday from 11-1. Reverend Buford Edwards and Reverend Dennis Hasty will be officiating the service with burial following at Danville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Micah Smith, Isaiah Jones, Hery Muniz (Eddie), Carlos Nunez, Santana Hocker, Daniel Nunez, Mark Sylvie and Jason Sylvie; Honorary pallbearers will be Tabor Bandy, Riley Wilson, Chaz Goodpastor, Patrick Thomas, Mason Smith, and Jake Jullian.
In lieu flowers donations may be given to Spurlin Funeral Home, Stanford.
