Phillip R. Johnston, 56, of Danville, KY passed away Monday, May 18, 2015 at U.K. Chandler Medical Center in Lexington. Born February 8, 1959 in Lancaster, KY to the late Rodney and Jean Kuehner Johnston, he was an employee of Dana Corporation for 26 years. Phillip loved target shooting, fishing, hunting, metal detecting, coin collecting, rebuilding trucks and cars and spending time with his family. He was a member of Boyle County Fish and Game Club and First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, KY.


Survivors include his wife of 21 years; Pamela Johnston and his daughter; Megan Rose Johnston both of Danville, KY, one brother; Doug Johnston of Tuscaloosa, AL, one sister; Susie Jones (David) of Cottage Grove, WI, one niece; Maggie Jones, and one nephew; Riley Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents.


Visitation will be Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 5-9pm at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Funeral service will be 1pm Friday, May 22, 2015 at the funeral home with Reverend Mike Denney officiating. A private family interment will be held at Danville Memorial Gardens at a later date.
