Omer McWhorter

Omer L. McWhorter, 79, passed away Friday April 25, 2014. He was born October 22, 1934 to the late James and Florence Neal McWhorter and was the husband of 58 years to Norma Brown McWhorter.

Mr. McWhorter retired from Kentucky Utilities and was a member of Alum Springs First Church of God. He enjoyed going fishing, working in his vegetable garden, and meeting with his friends each morning at the Junction City Hardees. He was a good husband and he and Norma enjoyed every moment of their life together.

In addition to his wife, Norma, Mr. McWhorter is survived by two sisters, Louise Russell of Junction City and Irene Dedrick of Louisville. He had six other siblings that predeceased him in death, Paul McWhorter, Jr., William McWhorter, Charles McWhorter, Morine Perdue, Josephene Brummit, and Christine Brown.

The funeral service will be 1:00p.m., Monday April 28, 2014 at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with Donald Lear officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 11a.m. - 1:00p.m. at the funeral home.
