Matilda Montgomery

Matilda Jane Griffin Montgomery, 85 of Lincoln County, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 16, 2015. Born May 2, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Annabelle Rogers Griffin. She was a homemaker that loved to cook and can. She made the very best apple butter!

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, R.C. Montgomery. She is survived by one son, Hugh Richard (Judy) Montgomery of Stanford; two daughters: Angela (Phillip) Russell of Junction City and Myra (Mark) Young of Benton; one brother Henry Griffin, Jr of IN; two sisters: Becky Beck and Dootsie Hinkle, both of Danville; three grandchildren: Brittney Montgomery, Ricky (Cristy) Allen and Phillip (Michelle) Allen; and five great grandchildren: Dalton, Sarah, Jackson, Cayden and Kinley Allen. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Plummer and Roberta Simpson.

Services will be at 11 am, Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Bro. Curtis Brock with burial in Danville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Ricky Allen, Phillip Allen, Mike Hinkle, Mark Montgomery, Greg Griffin and Mark Young. Honorary pallbearers are Marty Montgomery and Brittney Montgomery. Visitation is 5-8 pm, Sunday.
