Mary Frances Meaux, 81, of Danville, departed this life peacefully on September 10, 2021 at The Willows in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. She was born on September 19, 1939 to the late Bobby Lee and Mary Montgomery Stallworth.
Mary served the students of Hogsett Elementary School for well over 40 years in the cafeteria. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and loved collecting Longaberger Baskets, cooking and most of all, traveling the world.
Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Bright and James Stallworth; two sisters, Maise Norward and Lucille Bellamy; eldest son, Johnny Stallworth and her granddaughter, Nia Stallworth.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 58 years, Samuel T. Meaux; two sons, Arthur Travis Stallworth of Danville and Samuel Meaux, Jr., of Lexington; two daughters, Michael Meaux of Springfield and Belinda Meaux of Danville; 3 grandsons, Marcellous Harris of Lexington, Jonas Harris of Arizona and Lamar Dawson of California; four granddaughters, Arealle Harris, Danielle Lewis, Sharan Wheat, all of Lexington and Jania Ison of Covington, two brothers, Joe Stallworth of Georgia and Bobby Stallworth of South Carolina, one sister, Margaret Singleton of Danville and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 12 Noon Thursday, September 16, 2021 at First Baptist Church, 200 W. Walnut Street Danville with Dr. Derrick Briscoe officiating. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10am-12pm on Thursday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Hawkins, Albert Hawkins, Gary Johnson, Rodney Welch, Paul Lewis, and Jerry Matthews.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Cedric Stallworth, Keith Stallworth, Lamonte Stallworth, Marcus Stallworth, Tremain Singleton, and Lafonda Stallworth.
