Martha Bottoms 1920-2009
Martha Frances Butler Bottoms, 88, of Stanford died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1920, in Boyle County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Lee and Josie Bugg Butler and the widow of Gilbert Cecil Bottoms. Mrs. Bottoms was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church in Mercer County. She was a former employee of Fort Logan Hospital and retired from Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed yard work and reading.
Survivors include a son, Charles (Nancy Kleckner) Bottoms of Danville; a daughter, Linda (Winslow) Hillis of Bone Cave, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Shirley Martin, and a grandson, Robert Martin.
An Appreciation of Life Service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Story officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Eric Bottoms, Jay Jackson, Scotty Chambers, Dale Smith, Mark Hill and David Hillis. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Glen Click, Ray Green and Bobby Durham.
