Margaret E. Thompson, 78, wife of Floying Thompson, Sr., Harrodsburg, died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born January 12, 1931 in Mercer County she was the daughter of the late Walter Kyle "Doc" and Cordelia Williams Harmon. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and a member of Cornishville Baptist Church.
Additional survivors besides her husband include: two sons: Dennis Thompson and his wife, Rose of Harrodsburg and Floying Thompson, Jr. and his wife, Marsha of Danville; two brothers: Cornell Powell of Harrodsburg and Dale Powell of Lancaster; two sisters: Judy Rivers Reed of Burgin and Charlotte Sallee of Harrodsburg; and two grandchildren: Troy Thompson and Denise Leeanne Thompson; she was preceded in death by one grandson: Travis Thompson and one brother: W.C. Harmon.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with burial in the Danville Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Zachary Fyffe, Floying Thompson, Jr., Troy Thompson, Dennis Thompson, Aubrey McMullin and Larry Reed will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 7:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
