Marcus Underwood

Marcus Edward Underwood, 81, of Boyle County, passed away July 27, 2021 at his home. He was born on January 9, 1940 in Boyle County to the late Clay and Vina Underwood. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Underwood.

Marcus was a LPN for many years and retired from Cabinet for Health and Family Services. He was a partner in Underwood Brothers Farming, raising tobacco and cattle in Garrard and Boyle Counties. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving is a son, Darrell Underwood (Rebecca) of Burgin, a brother, Ernie Underwood, sisters, Eva Logue (Donald) of Harrodsburg and Judy Ellen Reinsmith (Wayne) of Salvisa, grandchildren, Kayla Mount (Tony), Kyle Curtis (Kimberly), Bethany Abbott (Chase) and Bryan Underwood and great-grandchildren, Dixon Mount, Deacon Mount, Karson Curtis, Skyler Abbott and Emily Abbott.

He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Shannon Curtis, son in law, Kenny Curtis, and brothers, Bobby, Donnie, and Bennie Underwood.

Funeral services will be 11am Friday, July 30, 2021 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Carl McCray officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, July 29, 2021.

.Pallbearers will be Kyle Curtis, Bryan Underwood, Chase Abbott, Mark Foster, Lawrence Underwood, Tony Mount and Dixon Mount.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kayla Mount, Bethany Abbott, Kimberly Curtis, Skyler Abbott, Emily Abbott and Deacon Mount.
