Larry Damon Hughes, 81 of Crab Orchard passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2022 at the VA Hospital in Lexington. He was the husband of Patricia (Rice) Hughes whom he married on December 7, 1968 in Michigan. Larry was born in Harlan County to the late Earl F. and Renee (Dean) Hughes. He was a Veteran having served 4 years for the US Army. He was a retired employee of the Ford Motor Company after thirty plus years of service. Larry was a member of the Crab Orchard Church God. He loved the Lord and was willing to share his testimony with anyone that he could. Larry was a member of the American Legion in Somerset. He enjoyed fishing, squirrel and rabbit hunting. Larry loved to cook and was known to fry the best chicken and okra. He also enjoyed watching Old Westerns, the Andy Griffin Show and football.

2 Grandchildren: Anthony Christophe & Christian Michael Hamlet

His God given grandbabies, Jamie Lynn Michaels, Luke & Alyce

Brother, Bill Hughes & Wife Marg of Pueblo, Colorado

Sister, Wanda Jordan of Colorado

 

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a Son, James Damon Hughes; Brothers, Ed & Charles Hughes; his father and mother-in-law, William A. & Luevadia (Bishop) Rice

 

Pallbearers Include: Christian & Anthony Hamlet, Aaron Calloway, Josh Spaulding, Matt Hicks, & Mark Shelton
