Larry Wayne Emmons, 75, died April 15, 2021 in Lexington. Born January 9, 1946 in Paris, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Alvin Louis and Christine Eversole Emmons. Larry served in the United States Army and then worked as a construction worker. He enjoyed riding his bike with his fellow bikers the Patriot Riders and always made sure to smell the roses and take in the little things. He loved flirting with VA nurses and would tell his daughter “I’m not too old”. Larry supported veterans and saluted every time he passed Camp Nelson National Cemetery. He is predeceased by his wife, Mickie Herrington Emmons; his fiancé, Brenda Willard; his brother, Alvin L. Emmons Jr; and his sister Bessie (Mickie) Graves.

Larry is survived by his daughter Rosanna (Harvey) Stratton of Stanford; a brother Richard Lee (Helen) Emmons of Blue Licks; three grandchildren, Tiffeny Conway (John) Lewis Wheeler, J.R. Price and Walter “Bubba” Price; eight great-grandchildren, Susan (Louis) Willard, Christina Michelle Combs, James Allen Price, Jamie Marie Price, Austin Matthew Price, Hailey Michelle Price, Logan Matthew Price, and Charity Michelle Price; two great-great-grandchildren, Mason Wheeler and Madison Wheeler; three nephews, Louie Emmons II, Shane Witt, and Alvin Emmons III; three nieces, Christy Liver, Kim Dufesne, and Melody Dufesne.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Reverend Jerry Lanham will officiate. Burial will be at Danville Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be members of the Patriot Guard Riders. Honorary pallbearers will be Harvey Stratton, James Price, Austin Price, Logan Price, Jr Price, Walter Price, and Walter Trent. Visitation will be 11 am to 1 pm, Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville.
