Juanita Florence Vance Curtis, 89, of Danville, passed away December 10, 2020 at Landmark of Danville. She was born in Hart County on January 10, 1931 to the late Vester and Iva Druen Vance. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jasper Curtis.
Juanita was a LPN for many years at Kentucky State Hospital and eventually retiring from Eastern State Hospital. She dearly loved her job as a nurse and was known for her amazing cooking. She loved her family and was the faithful and loving mother and grandmother that everyone prays to have. Juanita was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Surviving are children, Archie Curtis (Carlene) of Junction City, Nancy Brown (David) of Danville, Larry Dale Curtis (Cyndi) of Danville and Anita Cummins (Eddie) of Junction City; two brothers, Gerald Vance (Louise) of Louisville and WC "Bill" Vance (Carolyn) of Bardstown; grandchildren, Vanessa Shepperson, Mary Beth Curtis, Lewis Curtis, Lindsey Brown, Jeremy Curtis, Adam Curtis, Alexis Fleet, Kayla Mount, Kyle Curtis, Jessica Scattergood and Haley Carlock, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kenny Curtis and brother, Wendell Vance, sisters, Priscilla Hudgins and Rosella Robinson.
Funeral services will be 2PM Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Bro. Andy Mikels and Bro. Harold Best officiating. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy, Adam, Lewis, and Kyle Curtis and Cody and Caleb Shepperson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Esther's Sister's Sunday School Class.
Memorial contributions are preferred to Immanuel Baptist Church Benevolence Fund or Heritage Hospice.
