Johnny Smith

Heaven received a new Angel on March 30, 2014, Johnny B Smith of Danville, KY.

He was a florist, and had owned shops in Lebanon, St. Paul, and Castlewood, VA as well as one in Danville, KY. He and his wife, Nancy Clark Smith owned and operated Miss Kris Krafters of Danville, Ky. They had made floral arrangements and crafts that had been sold throughout Kentucky and Ohio.

Born July 25, 1940 in Russell County, VA, he was the oldest son of the late Thacker J Smith Sr. and Kathleen Wallace Smith. He was a graduate of Cleveland High School in Cleveland, VA. He was a member of the Lebanon, VA EMS and Jaycees of Lynchburg, VA. He and his wife were married Dec. 31, 1964, in Lebanon, Va.

Besides his wife Nancy, Johnny is survived by two daughters, "Missy" Michelle (Steven Spoonamore) Smith of Stanford and Crystal (Nathan) Johanson of Danville; three grandchildren, Stephanie and Taylor Spoonamore of Stanford, and Joselyn Johanson of Danville, two brothers, Fredrick G. (Vivian) Smith of Lebanon, VA, and Frank N. (Janice) Smith of Virginia Beach, VA; three sisters, Brenda S. Edwards of Danville, Elizabeth S. Smith of Nicholasville, and Linda L. Smith of Huntsville, AL. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thacker J. Smith Jr.

Visitation will be held at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home in Danville on Thursday April 3, 2014 from 5-7pm. The funeral will be at Danville Memorial Gardens, Chapel of Peace mausoleum in Danville on Saturday April 5, 2014 at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to buy snacks for cancer patients at EM Commonwealth Cancer Center, Attn: Ruth Goggin, social worker
