JUNCTION CITY - Jim Bowles Jr. of Stanford died March 3, 2009. He was the husband of Amelia Williams Bowles.
Jim was born June 17, 1940, in Berea, Ky., to the late Jim and Pearly Mae Cope Bowles Sr. He was a member of Harris Creek Baptist Church, served in the United States Army, was an Honorable Kentucky Colonel, and worked construction for the Mike Fredlock Company.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Billy Joe (Sue) Bowles and Donald Allen (Easter) Bowles, both of Stanford; three brothers, Bill Romine of Middletown, Ohio, and Wayne Bowles and Woodford Bowles, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home of Junction City with burial in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home of Junction City.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Harris Creek Baptist Church or Commonwealth Cancer Center.
