Jewell Daugherty Sherrow, 84, of Danville, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 at Charleston Health Care Center. She is the widow of Paul Sherrow.

Born June 28, 1929 in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Bell and Minnie Coyle Daugherty. Jewell was a homemaker and attended Faith Baptist Church. She was also predeceased by her son, Kenneth Lee Maddox; a son-in-law, Jerry Abbott; four sisters, Elizabeth Daugherty, Bonnie Jean Pike, Lillie Mae Waits, and Ruby King; and a brother, Walter B. Daugherty. She loved her family, working in her yard, and fishing.

Jewell is survived by one daughter Geneva Abbott of Danville; one son, Glenn (Peggy) Maddox of Junction City; one sister Helen Pike of Stanford; three grandchildren, Glenda Daws, Michael Maddox, and Kenneth Lee Maddox II; six great-grandchildren, Kearstin, Landon, Madison, Tyler, Hayden and Zachary; and two very special little boys Kaden and Karson.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City with the Rev. Barry Delaney officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Troy Abbott, Marlin "Bo" Daws, Michael E. Maddox, Zachary Swiggett, Tyler Maddox and Hayden Maddox. Honorary pallbearers will by Madison Maddox, Landon Maddox, Kearstin Swiggett, Kaden Emmons and Karson Emmons.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Monday at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Memorial donations are suggested to WDFB Christian Radio Station
