Jewell McCowan, 88 of Mt. Salem passed on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Born Dec. 4, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Margaret Miracle. She was a member of Ellisburg Baptist Church. Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie McCowan. She is survived by 3 daughters: Joyce (John) Loffredo of FL, Mary Juanita (Otis) Delk of Mt. Salem and Tiarra (Michael) McCormick of Danville; 5 grandchildren: Jeff, Dean, Tonya, Sarah and Laura; 3 step grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Services will be at 1 pm, Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Bro. Kevin Pittman with burial in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 5-8 pm, Sunday.
