Jean Smith

December 13, 1934 — March 6, 2015

Jean Abner Smith, 80 of Perryville went to her heavenly home on Friday, March 6, 2015. She was the widow of Samson Smith.

Born December 13, 1934 in Knox County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Axie Grubbs Abner.

Jean was a retired employee of Matsushita, and a member of Doctors Fork Baptist Church.

Jean's life revolved around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to spend family time at the lake fishing and camping with the entire family. She enjoyed quilting, cooking and gardening.

She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Norris of Washington Co., Rose Mary Pendygraft of Perryville, Diane (Steve) Campbell of Perryville, two sons, Donnie Smith of Washington Co., Mike (Janet )Smith of Mercer Co., three brothers, Doug (Lilly) Abner of Knox Co., LeRoy (Brenda) Abner of Lawrenceburg, Lewis ( Lee "Tootsie" )Abner of Mercer Co., ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by one brother, Andrew "Cotton" Abner.

Services for Jean will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday March 10, 2015, Wilder Funeral Home by Bro. John David Lane with burial in Danville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Monday, March 9, 2015, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dale and Alex Blevins, Daniel and Taylor Smith, Jonathan and David Smith, Chris Pendygraft and Steven Campbell.
