Jaxxyn Wood

September 2, 2001 — July 15, 2021

Jaxxyn Lee Wood, loving son, brother, boyfriend, and friend passed away in a work accident on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the age of nineteen.

Jaxxyn was born the youngest of eleven children on September 2nd, 2001 in Danville, Kentucky to Bryan and Rhonda (Powell) Wood. He received his GED in Raleigh in 2019 and became certified as a commercial diver in Jacksonville, Florida in 2020. Jaxxyn began a beautiful relationship with Kni’Treeya Johnson in March of 2018.

Jaxxyn brought big, delightful, infectious, captivating, kind energy to everything in his life. Jaxxyn had a passion for people, choosing to spend his free time and money on loving others. Jaxxyn added laughter and light to this world. He saw life in a beautifully positive way, choosing to let the small things go and focus his energy on what’s truly important.

Jaxxyn is preceded in death by his mother, Rhonda. Jaxxyn is survived by his father and stepmother, Bryan and Amanda Wood; his step siblings, Alexis and Alan Wireman; his girlfriend, Kni’Treeya Johnson; his 10 older siblings and 4 siblings-in-law: Nick and Elizabeth Love; Chelsey and Will Stauffer; Natalie Wood; Courtney and Cole Clark; Kaitlin and Cullen Dunham; Mackenzie Wood, Corbyn Wood, Alayna Wood, Lawsyn Wood, and Gary Braydyn Wood; nine nieces and nephews, and countless other loved ones.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Southland Christian Church on 1001 Ben Ali Drive in Danville, Kentucky from 5 to 7. Visitation guests are encouraged to wear Jaxxyn’s preferred attire of sweatpants/pajama pants and your favorite t-shirt. Seriously. That’s what he would want. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Southland Christian Church in Danville, Kentucky at 11. Jaxxyn did have one nice outfit, and understood that some things require formal dress. So you can dress nicely for the funeral, if you want – though, according to Jaxxyn, sweatpants are always appropriate. Instead of sending flowers, please use that money and time to love on someone in need like Jaxxyn would – pay for someone behind you, buy someone’s groceries or meal, let someone know they are valued. #lovelikejaxx
