Janet Hatter

May 2, 1937 — April 4, 2021

Janet Lee Gooch Hatter, age 83, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021 in Lexington, Kentucky. Born Sunday, May 2, 1937 in the Pond Ridge Community in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Curtis H. and Gladys Carey Gooch. Her loving husband is Shannon Hatter of Waynesburg. Janet was a member of Grace Fellowship Church. She taught in Lincoln County for over 40 years, working with students at Highland Elementary, Lincoln County High School and Fort Logan High School. Janet was very active in church, teaching Sunday School for many years. In her later years, her ministry was creating and making greeting cards, sending them to people throughout the community. Janet loved music and sang in a group in high school and often sang in church.

In addition to her husband, Janet leaves behind three sons, Dale Hatter (Karen) of Waynesburg, Davy Drew Hatter of Waynesburg and Donald Shannon Hatter of Bethel Ridge, Kentucky; one daughter, Debra Colene Norsworthy (Gary) of Lexington; 7 grandchildren, Carrie Williams, Casey Miracle (Jessica), Cagney Meek (Tyler), Kristy Johnson (Mack), Jesse Hatter (Jamie), Curtis Hatter and Ruby Hatter; 12 great grandchildren; and one sister, June Miller of Panama City, Florida.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Jack Burks; and one sister Lillian Elliott.

A Public Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM Friday, April 9, 2021 at Grace Fellowship Church with Bro. Tom Graef and Bro. Vola Brown officiating the service. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Casey Miracle, Tyler Meek, Mack Johnson, Jesse Hatter, Curtis Hatter, Trevor Williams, Alex Hatter, Brice Johnson, Carson Johnson, Collin Miracle, and Kanon Miracle will serve as Active Pallbearers.

The Funeral Service will be live streamed on Fox & Friend Funeral Home’s Facebook page beginning at 11:00AM Friday.

A Public Visitation will be held 5-8PM Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the church.
