James Reed

James "Jim" Reed, 77, of Stanford, KY died on Sunday, February 12, 2017 in Cincinnati, OH. He was born in Waynesburg, KY on January 28, 1940 to the late Fonzo and Lena Carman Reed. He was a mechanic for over 35 years, he worked in Chicago, IL for seven years; 12 years as a mechanic in Cincinnati, OH. He retired as the owner of Reed's Automotive here in Stanford, where he was known as a foreign car specialist. He is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Patsy Green Reed, of Stanford, Ky. Five sons; James H. Reed II (Rhonda) of Cincinnati, OH, Jeffrey Russell Reed (Julie) of Cincinnati, OH, Michael Lynn Reed (Ellen) of Cincinnati, OH, Patrick Timothy Reed (Freida) of Cincinnati, OH, Eric Dlynn Reed (Lisa) of Danville, KY; one sister; Norma Jean Kaelin of Louisville, KY, 12 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren and 7 nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Wayne Reed, and one sister, Wanda Correll. He was a member of Parlor Grove Baptist Church; He attended Grace Fellowship Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 5-9 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home. Funeral will be Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 12 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home. Reverend Vola Brown will be officiating the service with burial following at Danville Memorial Gardens in Danville, KY. Casket bearers will be grandsons.
