Gerald "Jerry" Potts, 55, of Danville passed away Friday at UK Hospital in Lexington. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Burger Potts. He was born April 16, 1960 in Danville to the late Bobby Lee Potts and Deloris "Mavylene" Potts.

Jerry was an alumnus of Danville High School and loved all Danville Admirals sports. He was an avid UK fan, loved softball, golfing, and fishing. Above all, Jerry loved his family and his grandchildren were his life.

Along with his wife, Janet and mother, "Mavylene"; he is survived by a daughter, Jerrica Funkhouser (Ryan) of Danville; a son, Jeremy Potts (Kitty) of Lawrenceburg; three brothers: Bobby Joe Potts (Sandy Mitchell) of Junction City, David Potts of Danville, and Donald Potts (Cititia) of Danville; three grandchildren: Addilee Funkhouser, Brody Funkhouser, and Jaylen Potts; and a special nephew, Dallas Martin. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services 1 PM Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Fultz officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 5-8 PM.

Pallbearers are Mitch Abrams,Tim Yates, Billy Cloyd, Harvey Blackwell, Cecil Burger, Johnny Robbins, Kelly Poynter, and Mike Abrams. Honorary pallbearers are Leslie, John, and Camden Breeze, Ashley Lear, and Robert and Mary Burger.

The family requests that family and friends wear their favorite UK or Danville Admirals sports attire for the visitation and funeral in honor of Jerry.
