Gerald Grant Gordon, 66, husband of Connie Hafley Gordon, died October 4, 2009 at his residence. Born July 25, 1943 in Boyle County, Ky., he was the son of the late Horace and Geneva Phillip Gordon. He was an employee of Phillips Lighting, an Army veteran, a member of CASA, former Commander of American Legion Boyle Post #46, and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church where he was part of a group that performed missionary work in South Dakota. He was also active in Boy Scouts where he was a member of the Kawida Order of the Arrow Lodge, Den Leader of Pack #326, a Silver Beaver, a Unit, Assistant District, and a Council Commissioner. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son; Charles "Chuck" (Patricia) Gordon of Lancaster, Ky., three daughters; Gail Gordon of Perryville, Ky., Sharon (Freddie) McQuary of McKinney, Ky., and Carol Gordon (Howard Goldberg) of Morehead, Ky., two sisters; Brenda Chadwell of Danville, Ky., and Rose (Buck) Cummins of Wilmore, Ky., and seven grandchildren; Jacob Gordon, Sydney Turpin, Brittney Carpenter, Casey Gordon, Ashley Gordon, Abby Turner and Hayden Goldberg. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 1 pm at Stith Funeral Home and Family Center in Junction City with Bro. Clyde Strunk and Rev. Kevin Hampton. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army and Boyle American Legion Post #46. Visitation is Tuesday after 5 pm in Junction City. The family requests memorial donations to CASA.
