Fern Grizzell

Fern Delores Binion Grizzell, age 78, of Anderson Heights in Stanford, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born Thursday, April 30, 1936 in Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Cecil & Stella Maywood Binion. Her loving husband is James Kelly Grizzell of Stanford, whom she married January 18, 1953; and they just celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary. Fern worked as a cook for Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center and was a member of Hustonville Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, fishing; and loved all animals.

In addition to her husband, Fern leaves behind four sons, James Michael Grizzell (Whitney) of Stanford, Robert Kelly Grizzell (Tena) of Crab Orchard, William Anthony "Tony" Grizzell (Teresa) of Danville, and Jonathan Kevin Grizzell (Monica) of Hustonville; two daughters, Sherry Harris (Clinton) of Stanford and Donna Geiger (Friedhelm) of Bucyrus, Ohio; three brothers, Junior Binion, Chris Binion, and Jeff Binion all of Ohio; two sisters, Phoebe Hodge of Florida and Hattie Grubb of Ohio; 16 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Jason Grizzell; and 8 brothers and sisters.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Hustonville Baptist Church with Bro. Jonathan Kevin Grizzell officiating the service. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Fern's grandsons will serve as Active Pallbearers. Her granddaughters and great-grandchildren will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

The Visitation will be held 5-8PM Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Fox Funeral Home. A Second Visitation will be held 9-11AM Wednesday at the church.
