Denzil Clifton Belcher, 91, of Junction City died Saturday, May 14, 2011. Born in Forkland on February 6, 1920, he was the son of Martin Luther and Julie Ann Wilson Belcher. A heavy equipment mechanic, Denzil was the owner of Belchers Machine Shop and had worked for Talbott and Meyers and Bizzac Brothers Construction companies. He was a member of Alum Springs First Church of God and a Kentucky Colonel. He was the oldest member of the Operating Engineers Local #181.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Nannie Reese Belcher, a son Ronald A. (Nancy) Belcher and a daughter, Freda Shafer, both of Danville; a brother, Sam Belcher of Junction City, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildrent and three great great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Alum Springs First Church of God. Rev. Keith Willoughby and Rev. Leland Lockhart will officiate. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Memorials are suggested to the Alum Springs First Church of God building fund.
