Clarence Rankin

June 28, 1930 — June 23, 2016

Clarence Lee Rankin, Jr., 85, of Stanford, KY passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 at his daughters home in Danville. Born June 28, 1930 in Stanford, he was the son of the late Clarence Lee Rankin, Sr. and Eva Chrisman Rankin and the widower of the late Ethel Adams Rankin. He was a lifelong farmer, owner of Rankin Mobile Home Supplies and Little Beaver Sport's Shop, and was a charter member of Willow Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son; Larry Bruce Rankin (Linda) of Stanford, KY, two daughters; Brenda Semones (Carroll) of Harrodsburg, KY, and Bobbie Murphy of Danville, KY, six grandchildren; Jennifer Luttrell (Jeff), Lisa McQueen (Doug), Joy Baker (Mark), LeCarole Vanoy (Brian), Sara Southerland (Jeff) and Bridget Lynn (C.J.), eleven great-grandchildren, his caretakers; Julie Milburn and Lavonne Smothers, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 5-9pm at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Funeral service will be 1pm Monday, June 27, 2016 at the funeral home with Reverends Brad King and Lewis Walter officiating. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens in Danville, KY and casket bearers will be: Sara Southerland, Bridget Lynn, Lisa McQueen, Jennifer Luttrell, Bobbie Murphy, and Linda Rankin.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to American Caner Society and/or Gideons International.
