Burton Oliver Carlson II, 65 of Danville died Friday, August 29, 2014. Born June 24, 1949 in Jamestown, NY, he was the son of the late Burton Oliver and Beverly Belknap Carlson. He graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School and Centre College. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Burt worked in advertising sales and had been a partner in Golden Corral Restaurant in Bardstown. He attended First Baptist Church and liked to read and play golf. He enjoyed spending time with his three granddaughters.


He is survived by his wife, Elaine Sue Short Carlson; two sons, Burton O. (Wendy) Carlson III of Copperas Cove, TX. and John Brent (Janie) Carlson of Clermont, FL.; a sister, Bonnie Babchick of Tampa, FL., and his three granddaughters, Alexis Katie, Arianna Kimberly and Joanna Elizabeth Carlson.


The funeral service will be 12:00 p.m., Thursday September 4, 2014 at Stith Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Mathis officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Roger Trent, Jeffrey Fieburg, Harris Howard, William Jones, Felix Johnson, Louis Seelbach, Darrell Taulbee, Rodney Wainscott, Andrew Webster and Daniel Stutzel. Visitation will be 10:30 - 12 prior to the service. Memorial donations are suggested to the Danville-Boyle Co. Public Library.
