Betty Robertson

Betty Jean Robertson, 78, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

She was born in Casey County, Kentucky on June 5, 1937, daughter of the late John A. and Betty Salyers Meeks. She was a self-employed beautician, owning her own beauty shop for 45 plus years. She was a member of Redemption Road Church in Danville. She was a wonderful, loving, funny mother and grandmother who loved traveling and cooking and was always joking and laughing.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara & (Bruce) Welch of Stanford, KY and Sandy & (Larry) Ford of Danville, KY, one brother, Billy & (Margaret) Meeks of Florida, four granddaughters, Daphne & (Richard) VanCleave and Tutti Welch, both of Danville, Tay & (TJ) Trumbo of Indiana and Cassie & (Jeff) Adams of Danville, KY, eight great-grandchildren, that she called her "ugly babies", a dear friend, Lavena Ham and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband, Roy M. Robertson, Jr. and one great-granddaughter, Cherish Cian Welch.

A funeral service will be held at 5 PM Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Redemption Road Church in Danville with Bro. Gary Yocom officiating.

Visitation will be after 3 PM Saturday at Redemption Road Church.

Burial will be private at Danville Memorial Gardens.

Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
