Bette Jean Cloyd

Bette Jean Cloyd, age 89, Danville, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation in Danville. Born February 28, 1933 in Mitchellsburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late William James and Madge Lee (Baker) Cloyd. She was a graduate of Danville High School and attended the Danville School of Practical Nursing. Bette was a retired nurse having worked at the former U.S. Army Darnall General Hospital (currently Northpoint) in Danville and the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg. She loved raising flowers and was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Danville.

Survivors include two nephews Michael Long of Danville and Robert Cloyd Jr. of Harrodsburg; three nieces Connie Borbely of Oak Forest, IL Melody Barnes and Terri Murphy both of Harrodsburg; four close cousins Belinda Holman of Parksville, Deborah (Charlie) Roach of Summerfield, FL, Ted Baker and Tim Boldrick both of Danville, a sister-in-law, Mary Cloyd of Illinois and several other distant cousins. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her son Michael Laymon and her very close cousin, the late Jim Miller. 

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Sims Funeral Services by Bro. Doug Thacker with burial will follow in the Danville Memorial Gardens in Danville.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 11 AM until the time of services at Sims Funeral Services.
