Bernice Johnson

Bernice Miller Johnson, 93, of Danville passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023.  Born October 22, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Dave and Nancy Whitis Miller. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death her husband, William E. Johnson; by two sons, Larry Johnson and Mike Johnson; and two grandchildren, Dana Michelle Johnson and Lori Kay Johnson.   

Bernice had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Danville for the past 75 years where she taught Sunday School, Bible School, and did Missionary work with the church.  She retired from Palm Beach and has led exercises for the senior citizens at the Senior Citizen Center on Jean Drive.

Bernice is survived by a son, Danny Johnson of Hustonville; a sister, Lillian Brackett of Lancaster; six grandchildren: Jennifer (Milton) Adams of Stanford, Chris Johnson of Junction City, William (Terri) Johnson of Junction City, Lashanda (Rebel) Sears of Junction City, Lanice (James) Goodin of Stanford, and Troy (Shannon) Baker of Lincoln County; 14 great grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren. 

Visitation is 11am-1pm, Thursday at First Baptist Church on the Danville Bypass.  Funeral Service will follow at 1pm with Dr. J. Timothy Mathis officiating. Pallbearers are Mikie Adams, Jacob Adams, Hunter Goodin, Tucker Sears, Tyler Johnson, Troy Baker, and Rebel Sears. Honorary Pallbearers are Milton Adams, James Goodin, Chris Johnson, William Johnson, and Rick Turner.  Burial is at Danville Memorial Gardens.
