Benjamin Underwood

Benjamin F. Underwood, 69, of Harrodsburg, passed away April 18, 2021 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was born on September 6, 1951 in Boyle County to the late Clay and Vina Underwood. Ben is preceded in death by his wife, Faye Flannery Underwood.

He was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. He liked helping people out and meeting new friends while working at the ROC there. He held many jobs farming, construction and guard work. His last employment was for the Garrard County Road Department.

Surviving are step-children, Joyce Walton of Paint Lick, JoAnn Mattingly of Jackson County and Tony Sparks of Jackson County, brothers, Marcus Underwood of Danville and Ernest Underwood of Mercer County, sisters, Eva Logue (Donald) of Harrodsburg and Judy Reinsmith (Wayne) of Salvisa and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ben is also preceded in death by a step-son, Randall Sparks and brothers, Bobby and Donald Underwood.

Funeral services will be 11am Thursday, April 22. 2021 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Rev. John Kesel officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 5-8pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Lawrence Underwood, Douglas Underwood, Darrell Underwood, Chris Underwood, Jared Reinsmith and Sonny Underwood.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Underwood, Janie Robbins, Donna Prewitt, Cindy Long, Julie Honaker, Mary Eva Underwood and Brandon Sparks.

Memorial contributions are preferred to Gideon's International.
