Alta Gibson

Alta Jean Hicks Gibson, 84, of Junction City passed away Friday, February 15, 2019. Born September 12, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Adam Bud and Elizabeth Ratliff Hicks. She loved gardening (vegetables and flowers), quilting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Junction City First Baptist Church. Alta was preceded in death by son, Gene Phillip Gibson and daughter, Janie Elizabeth Bentley. She was also a loving wife to her late husband, Miles Gibson, Jr.

She is survived by a son, Dr. Miles Kenton (Teresa) Gibson of Russell Springs; four grandchildren: Brian (Renee) Bentley of Paintsville, Adam (Heather) Gibson of Louisville, Chad Gibson of Russell Springs and Meghan (Eric) Ealy of Russell Springs; and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation is 4:00 – 6:30 pm, EST Sunday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 11 am, Monday at the funeral home by Bro. Dale Denton with burial at Danville Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Junction City First Baptist Church Building Fund.
